Park and Ride at out lying places such as Mjodd or Smáralind

Reykjavikians are car people, especially those who live in the suburbs.The buses that run into the hoods are less then conveniant. However,once I get to Mjodd, the situation is much better. I would like to drive my car to Mjodd, park, hop on a bus to work downtown and then do the same on the way home. When I get to Mjodd then I have my car to run errands with, buy groceries, the best of both worlds. And my car doesn't clog up downtown. I am from NY where there are many variations on this theme.
